This design centres on amser clocsio — “clogging time” — a nod to the Welsh tradition of clocsio, or Welsh stepdance. The style developed in quarrying and rural communities, where dancers used hard-soled shoes to create sharp, rhythmic beats against wooden floors. It later became a regular feature at eisteddfodau and local competitions across Wales. The artwork takes a bold, pop-art direction, with simplified figures and strong outlines that echo the energetic, graphic feel of Keith Haring’s work. Movement is suggested through repeated shapes and clear lines rather than fine detail, giving the design a lively, rhythmic look.
