This mug design taps into the slightly baffling but enduring West Walian tradition of bara llaeth — bread and milk. It is one of those dishes where local familiarity and outsider reaction can differ wildly. For some, entirely normal. For others, evidence of a minor domestic crisis. The method is simple: bread in bowl, milk on top, carry on. It is still found in parts of West Wales, although the breakfast cereal industry has yet to seize the opportunity. Bread flakes remains, for now, an untapped market. Then there is bara te, involving tea and bread, which deserves its own separate inquiry. It's a cheerful design for a mug - what you decide to put in the mug is up to you.
