This design leans into the slightly odd West Walian habit of eating a bowl of bara llaeth — bread and milk. It’s one of those things that, depending on who you ask, is either completely normal or a sign of a minor breakdown. A bowl, a bit of torn bread, milk poured over the top — job done. It’s still knocking about in parts of West Wales, but it’s unlikely Kellogg’s will be copying the idea anytime soon. Bread flakes feels like a tough sell. There’s also bara te (tea and bread), which, if anything, is even more questionable. The graphic keeps things simple: a cheerful retro bowl character ambling along, full of life. Bold lines, flat colour, and a vintage, mid-century diner feel. A moustache for good measure. Like a lot of the best food traditions, it doesn’t try to justify itself. It just quietly exists — and if you know, you know.
