This piece centres on Bardsey Island (Ynys Enlli), a small island off the tip of the Llŷn Peninsula. It’s a striking part of Wales, known for its seabird colonies and open, windswept cliffs. The island lies on an important migration path, and each spring and summer thousands of puffins, guillemots and other seabirds return to nest. Bardsey Island also has a long-standing spiritual history - it was once home to a monastery and became known as the “Island of 20,000 Saints.” The blend of wildlife, history and isolation gives it a strong sense of place. The design uses a bold lino-print style, with clear outlines and solid shapes to suggest the island and its birdlife.
