'Ceirios Trelew' Retro Cherries Patagonia Graphic Unisex Tee (Double Sided)

This design is inspired by vintage produce labels, reimagined with a playful Welsh / Argentinian twist. At the centre are two cheerful, cartoon-style cherries. They're good lads, born and raised in Trelew in Patagonia, Argentina. Trelew is a place with a strong Welsh connection. The town was founded in 1886 by Welsh settlers. Its name comes directly from the Welsh word “tre” meaning town, and “Lew” referring to Lewis Jones, one of the blokes behind the settlement. Trelew sits in the Chubut Valley, part of the wider region known as Y Wladfa (the Welsh colony established in Patagonia when settlers travelled over 8,000 miles to build a new community where they could preserve their language and culture). It’s a long way from Cymru, but the connection is still there. You can see it in place names, Chapels, tea houses, and even the Welsh language, which is still taught out there. The design itself keeps things clean and graphic, with bold shapes and a  limited colour. The checkerboard detail and block lettering give it that retro feel, while the characters bring a bit of personality and movement. A fun, retro-inspired design that blends classic produce branding with a place that’s often described as a little slice of Wales - just much, much further south.
