This design looks back at Coney Beach in Porthcawl — a place that, for generations, meant rides, lights, noise, candy floss, chips, first kisses, first fist fights — a proper day out at the seaside. The illustration leans into a vintage fairground style, with decorative borders, bold linework, and a limited colour palette that gives it that classic, print-like feel. The lighthouse, bunting and splashdown scene all come together to capture something instantly recognisable. Coney Beach first opened in 1918 and became one of Wales’ best-known seaside attractions. It was built for the amusement of American troops stationed in South Wales during the First World War, and the name is a nod to the famous amusement park on Coney Island, New York. For over a century, it was part of the rhythm of summer — dodgems, arcades, fairground rides. It closed in 2025 as part of a wider regeneration scheme. The two-sided layout works nicely here: a detailed back print paired with a simple front chest graphic that keeps just the essence.
