Octopws' Welsh Kids Tee - Octopus Tee

This design shows a bright red octopws with curling arms and simple, expressive features. The shape is loose, bold and playful - very much the stance of something saying, yes, I’m an octopws, deal with it. There’s a lot of personality packed into a fairly straightforward arrangement of circles, curves and attitude. You probably don’t need to have just picked up the Cadair at the Eisteddfod to work out that “Octopws” means “octopus.” It’s one of those excellent Welsh spellings that feels familiar, but slightly improved. Octopuses are widely regarded as some of the most intelligent creatures in the sea. They’ve been observed solving problems, opening jars, navigating mazes, and squeezing through gaps that look far too small to be sensible. Having no bones helps enormously, though it does mean they can vanish from places you were fairly sure were secure. The design keeps everything clean and character-led. Strong lines, bold colour and a confident central shape do most of the work, with no need for overcomplication. A fun, slightly deadpan design built around a great word, a clever animal, and the quiet confidence of something with eight arms and no interest in explaining itself.
