This design draws from retro diner and neon-style signage, using a circular layout and simple lines. The phrase “Eat More Cawl” acts as a clear instruction. Cawl is widely recognised as the national dish of Cymru, a one-pot stew made from meat and available vegetables, often lamb, leeks and potatoes. Its history stretches back centuries, with records from as early as the 14th century (see The Hearthman’s Handy Compendium of Boiled Meats & Roots). Cooked slowly over a fire, it was a practical, no-waste meal that could be built up over several days. The design mirrors that approach, keeping things simple with bold shapes, clear lettering and a warm retro feel. A clean graphic nod to a dish that has long been part of Welsh life.
