This apron design takes its cue from retro diner and neon signage, using a circular layout and clean linework. The phrase “Eat More Cawl” works as a simple call to action. Cawl is often seen as the national dish of Wales, a slow-cooked stew made with meat and whatever vegetables were available, usually lamb, leeks and potatoes. It has a long history, with references going back to the 14th century (see The Hearthman’s Handy Compendium of Boiled Meats & Roots). Cooked in one pot over time, it was a practical, no-waste meal that could be added to across days. The design keeps things equally clear, with bold shapes, simple lettering and a warm retro feel.
