This design takes inspiration from retro diner signage and neon graphics, built around a clean circular layout with simple lines. “Eat More Cawl” sits at the centre as a gentle instruction. Cawl is widely seen as the national dish of Cymru, a slow-cooked stew made from meat and whatever vegetables were available, often lamb, leeks and potatoes. It dates back centuries, with written records from as early as the 14th century (see The Hearthman’s Handy Compendium of Boiled Meats & Roots). Cooked over time in one pot, it was a practical, no-waste meal that could be stretched across days. The design mirrors that simplicity, using bold shapes, clear lettering and a warm retro feel.
