This design centres on Elegug Stacks, the pair of limestone sea pillars found on the Pembrokeshire coast close to the Green Bridge of Wales. The artwork keeps things minimal: bold shapes, flat colour and a close composition focused on the stacks themselves, the surrounding water and the low sun tucked behind them. Once part of the cliffline, these rock towers were gradually cut away by wind and waves over countless years, leaving two isolated columns rising from the sea. They are dramatic enough without needing embellishment. The name Elegug derives from the Welsh word for guillemot, the seabirds that gather here in large colonies during the nesting season.
