Ok, here we have a cool-looking jellyfish - shades on, cruising along on a skateboard somewhere near Cefn Sidan Beach in Pembrey, enjoying what appears to be a very successful day off school. The long sands and open space feel like exactly the sort of place this kind of thing might happen if you arrived at the right time. The clean lines, bright colours and simple shapes give the design a fun, slightly surreal feel. It keeps everything bold and readable, with just enough oddness to make it memorable without trying too hard. The phrase “Sglefren Fôr” means “jellyfish” in Welsh, though it carries a more literal feel closer to sea glider, sea skater, or something that slips and slides through the water. It’s one of those excellent Welsh words where the sound and meaning seem to describe the movement of the creature itself. There’s something nicely absurd about the whole thing - a jellyfish on a skateboard somehow feeling perfectly natural for a moment. A playful design that mixes Cymraeg, seaside energy and a touch of skate culture.
