This design centres on Bardsey Island (Ynys Enlli), a small island off the tip of the Llŷn Peninsula. It’s a beautiful part of Cymru, known for its seabird colonies and exposed cliffs. It sits on a key migration route, and each spring and summer thousands of puffins, guillemots and other seabirds arrive to nest along its slopes. Bardsey Island also has a long spiritual history - once home to a monastery and known as the “Island of 20,000 Saints.” The mix of wildlife, history and isolation gives it a distinct character. The design follows a bold, lino-print-inspired style, using clear outlines and strong shapes to suggest the island and its birdlife. A simple, confident design built around one of Wales’s most distinctive coastal islands.
