A proper day out at the seaside. Coney Beach first opened in 1918 and became one of Wales’ best-known amusement parks. It was originally created for American troops stationed in South Wales during the First World War, with the name nodding to Coney Island in New York. For more than a century it formed part of the rhythm of summer — dodgems, arcades and fairground rides drawing people back year after year. It closed in 2025 as part of a wider regeneration scheme.
