This design looks back at Coney Beach in Porthcawl - a place that for generations meant rides, lights, noise, candy floss, chips, first kisses and the occasional first fist fight. A proper day out at the seaside. Coney Beach first opened in 1918 and became one of Wales’ best-known amusement parks. It was originally created for American troops stationed in South Wales during the First World War, with the name nodding to Coney Island in New York. For more than a century it formed part of the rhythm of summer - dodgems, arcades and fairground rides drawing people back year after year. It closed in 2025 as part of a wider regeneration scheme. The two-sided layout suits the subject perfectly: a detailed back print carrying the atmosphere, paired with a simple front chest graphic that keeps just the essence.
