This piece forms part of a series of minimalist designs focused on well-known parts of Wales. Portmeirion sits on the coast of Gwynedd and stands apart from most villages in the country. It was planned and built in the early 20th century by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, who set out to create something playful, colourful and timeless. The result is a cluster of bright buildings, terraces and arcades that feel almost lifted from a Mediterranean shoreline. The artwork uses clean lines and bold colour blocks to suggest that distinctive style without overloading the layout. The lettering stays clear and straightforward, allowing the name to sit comfortably alongside the image. A simple, bright take on one of Wales’s most distinctive village scenes. Number 6 approved.
