Football and Wales have long gone hand in hand. The Football Association of Wales, founded in 1876, is one of the oldest national associations in the world. This design turns the map of Wales into a cheerful cartoon footballer, wearing a Wales bucket hat with the ball at its feet, shaping to cut inside and curl one into the top corner before leaping into the Canton Stand. The illustration uses a playful retro mascot style, with bold outlines and simple shapes that echo vintage cartoon characters.
