This design has that classic retro-future feel - soft muted tones, simple geometry and the sort of neat composition you’d expect on an old mission patch. The astronaut has arrived somewhere unfamiliar, stepped out for “un cam bach” (one small step), and planted the Welsh flag into the strange new soil. “Bydda Mam ddim yn credu hyn,” he’s thinking, quite reasonably. It’s part of the Welsh National Space Agency series, which imagines Cymru carrying the iaith y nefoedd into deep space. There’s something especially satisfying about the red dragon flying on another world - arguably Earth’s strongest flag design, with Bhutan’s dragon and Nepal’s triangular masterpiece close behind. A bright, playful design where Welsh language meets life beyond the atmosphere.
