Rugby has been part of Welsh life for generations, from full stadiums to local clubs playing weekly matches across towns and villages. The national side first took to the field in 1881, and the sport soon became one of the defining features of Welsh culture. This design turns the map of Wales into a cheerful cartoon rugby player, running with the ball tucked under one arm. The illustration uses a retro mascot style, with bold outlines, simple shapes and bright colours that reflect vintage cartoon design. The running figure and classic rugby ball keep the image clear and energetic, suggesting that Wales itself is in play. A bright graphic built around the idea that rugby is never far away in Wales - even if we aren't always the best at it! Cadw'r fydd!!
