Sgwd Rhyd-yn-Hes is the Welsh name for Melincourt Falls, a broad cascade near the village of Resolven in the Vale of Neath. The river drops over a curved rock ledge into a deep pool below, forming one of the most recognisable waterfalls in south Wales. The design keeps the scene flat and graphic, using bold shapes and clear outlines to suggest the sweep of falling water and the wooded valley around it. The composition stays balanced, with the name set out clearly so the place takes centre stage. The sound of the falls carries through the trees long before the water comes into view, and the setting feels tucked away despite being close to the village.
