Mi Welais Jac-Y-Do' Infant T-Shirt

This design takes its cue from the classic Welsh nursery rhyme “Mi welais Jac-y-Do,” featuring a jackdaw perched neatly on a rooftop, hat on (we’ve gone for a Panama hat) and looking fairly pleased with himself. We've been quite faithful to the original rhyme so you'll also see that the lad has two wooden legs (one of those slightly odd details that feels completely normal when you’re singing along when you're four). It's a sort of geometric style illustration, with a limited colour palette. Crisp and modern while still keeping things playful. There’s something quietly confident about the character — like a well-dressed businessman on foreign soil, taking things in his stride (and possibly doing a bit of work for British intelligence). “Mi welais Jac-y-Do” translates as “I saw a jackdaw,” a familiar opening line from one of Wales’ best-known children’s songs. A simple, character-led design built around strong shapes, a well-known rhyme, and a bird that seems to know exactly what it’s doing.
