This design takes things underwater, with Owain Glyndŵr reimagined as a fully kitted-out scuba diver, albeit in skeletal form. The illustration uses clean outlines, flat colour and a bright retro palette that keeps everything playful. A turquoise backdrop, coral shapes and small shoals of fish create that calm drifting underwater feel, while Glyndŵr himself looks remarkably relaxed about the whole arrangement. Owain Glyndŵr was a Welsh prince, military leader and all-round good bloke who led a major revolt against English rule in the early 1400s, and remains one of Wales’ great national heroes. Here though, he has clearly chosen a different return - back from the dead, geared up, and enjoying himself beneath the waves. Part of the wider Skeleton Glyndŵr series, where after centuries away he has decided not on rebellion, but on finally trying everything he missed the first time round. Surfing, skating… and now scuba diving.
