The name Owen comes from the Welsh Owain, often linked to meanings such as “noble-born,” “well-born,” or “young warrior.” It’s a name that carries a lot of significance in Cymru because of Owain Glyndŵr. The shield is split into four equal sections. Each section carries its own charge, creating a balanced but varied design. So, you've got a castle in the dexter chief (top left) - symbol of strength, defence, and place. Opposite, in the sinister chief is a helmet - representing readiness, martial tradition, and the individual figure of the warrior. Then In the dexter base (bottom left), you've got a cool looking lion - representing courage and authority. Here it also echoes the lions used in the arms associated with Owain Glyndŵr. In the sinister base, a crown completes the set — a symbol of sovereignty, honour, and legitimacy. It ties back to the name’s connections with Welsh leadership and princely lineage. We've used a red and gold (gules and or) colour scheme. Red traditionally represents valour and energy, while gold signifies generosity and status. It's a classic heraldic combination - as they always used to say 'you can't go wrong with gules and or'. This design forms part of the wider series of Welsh surname crests created in a flat modern style.
