Pwll y Wrach' means 'Witch’s Pool' in Welsh, a name given to the waterfall and deep plunge pool on the River Ennig near Talgarth in Powys. The river drops in two streams over a ledge into a dark, wooded basin. It's a really atmospheric and beautiful place Local tradition suggests the name may come from a medieval practice of suspected witches being “ducked” in the pool below the fall. The artwork uses flat colour and simple outlines to suggest the fall of water and wooded valley without extra detail. The composition stays clear and balanced, with the place name set plainly alongside the graphic. A grounded, graphic take on one of mid-Wales’s most intriguingly named natural features.
