Retro Elvis Mug (Preseli Hills )

This mug design leans into the wonderfully unofficial notion that Elvis Presley may have had Welsh roots. Against the Preseli Hills, a very familiar figure appears — shades on, collar raised, burger in hand, and looking as though Pembrokeshire has always suited him. The artwork uses thick black outlines, tidy shapes and a soft vintage palette that gives it a relaxed retro charm. The theory has floated around for years. Some cite the resemblance between Presley and Preseli. Others point to Eglwys Elvis, the old Pembrokeshire church linked to St Elvis, who tradition says baptised St David. Then there’s his mother Gladys, a name sometimes connected to the Welsh gwlad, meaning land or nation.
