This design is inspired by the old Coliseum Cinema in Porthmadog - once a much-loved picture palace on High Street. Built in the 1930s in a classic Art Deco style, the Coliseum was part of local life for generations, hosting films, events, childhood outings and the occasional proper red-carpet moment. It closed in 2011 and somewhat unbelievably was demolished in 2016, marking the end of a real Porthmadog landmark. The design gives it a slightly magical, old-cinema treatment, with fine linework, vintage lettering and a cheerful film-reel character outside the building. It’s a nod to the days when going to the pictures felt like an event.
