Football and Wales have long been closely linked. The Football Association of Wales, founded in 1876, is one of the oldest national associations in the world. This design reworks the map of Wales as a cheerful cartoon footballer, wearing a Wales bucket hat with the ball at its feet, ready to cut inside and curl a shot into the top corner before celebrating in the Canton Stand. The illustration follows a playful retro mascot style, using bold outlines and simple shapes inspired by vintage cartoons. A bright cartoon design that puts Wales firmly in the middle of the game.
