This design is based on Shell Island (Mochras) — a tidal peninsula off the coast near Llanbedr in Gwynedd, out on the edge of Cardigan Bay. The illustration keeps things clean and simple: a ring of shells, light linework, and that classic seaside palette that feels properly old-school. Shell Island is known for the sheer number of shells that wash up on the beach — hundreds of different types over a season if you know what you’re looking for. Cockles, mussels, razor clams, scallops. The land itself was shaped back in the early 1800s when the course of the River Artro was diverted, leaving this long, low strip of sand and dunes sitting out into the bay. The design is two sided layout - a detailed back print with the shell pattern and text, and a small front chest graphic featuring a handful of shells on their own.
