This design draws from vintage produce labels, reimagined with a Welsh and Argentinian twist. At the centre are two cheerful cartoon cherries, from Trelew in Patagonia. Trelew was founded in 1886 by Welsh settlers, with its name coming from “tre” (town) and “Lew,” referring to Lewis Jones. It sits in the Chubut Valley, part of Y Wladfa, where settlers travelled over 8,000 miles to build a new community and preserve their culture. Though far from Cymru, the connection is still visible in place names, chapels, tea houses and the Welsh language. The design uses bold shapes and limited colour to keep things clear. Checkerboard details and block lettering give it a retro feel, while the characters add personality. A playful design with a link back to Wales.
