The Welsh phrase “clwb brecwast” translates, as you might expect, as “breakfast club.” This design takes that idea and runs with it, turning breakfast into a small but determined crew of characters. There’s toast - dependable and level-headed, cereal - doing the everyday heavy lifting, pancakes - bringing the sweetness, and croissant - the one you probably wouldn’t trust with the keys. Together, they form a fairly unlikely line-up. The artwork has a bold retro cartoon feel, with clean outlines, a restrained colour palette and a composition that nods to old children’s graphics and classic diner signs. Checkerboard details and chunky lettering keep the design crisp and graphic, while the individual breakfast characters add plenty of charm. A colourful, slightly unruly celebration of the day’s most essential meal.
