Hiraeth is often translated as homesickness, but the Welsh word carries a deeper sense of longing - a pull toward a place, a time, or something just beyond reach. This design pairs the word with a sunset mountain scene inspired by Yr Wyddfa, the highest peak in Wales (1,085 metres). The artwork uses bold, flat colour and simple outlines to reduce the mountain to its familiar silhouette against the sun. Above the ridge, a small group of swallows circle, referencing their long migrations and their habit of returning to the same places each year. The layout keeps the word central and clear, letting it hold the meaning. A graphic built around one of Wales’s most distinctive words and one of its most recognisable mountains.
