Pwll y Wrach, meaning “Witch’s Pool,” is the name given to the waterfall and deep plunge pool on the River Ennig near Talgarth in Powys. The river drops in two narrow streams over a ledge into a dark, wooded basin below. It’s a quiet, atmospheric setting. Local tradition suggests the name may come from a medieval practice of suspected witches being “ducked” in the pool beneath the falls.
