Pwll y Wrach, meaning “Witch’s Pool,” is the name given to the waterfall and deep plunge pool on the River Ennig near Talgarth in Powys. The river drops in two narrow streams over a ledge into a dark, wooded basin below. It’s a quiet, atmospheric setting. Local tradition suggests the name may come from a medieval practice of suspected witches being “ducked” in the pool beneath the falls. The artwork uses flat colour and clear outlines to suggest the fall of water and the surrounding valley, keeping things simple. The composition stays balanced, with the place name set out plainly alongside the graphic. A grounded, graphic take on one of mid-Wales’s most intriguingly named natural features.
