This design sits within a series of minimalist pieces centred on iconic locations across Wales. Ynys Llanddwyn lies off the west coast of Anglesey, connected to the mainland at low tide by a narrow stretch of sand. The island is strongly associated with Santes Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers. Legend has it she retreated here after a broken heart and was granted three wishes, including that true lovers would be blessed. Her well became a place couples visited for signs about their future. The design uses bold, clear shapes and simple lines to suggest the island’s outline and lighthouse without unnecessary detail. A bright, pared-back take on one of Wales’s best known coastal spots.
