This design is inspired by Ynyslas, Ceredigion, where timber boardwalks run through the dunes towards a huge open beach. Located at the mouth of the Dyfi Estuary, the area is part of a national nature reserve celebrated for its sand dunes, wildlife and broad sweeping shoreline. The boardwalks give the place a character all of its own, creating that satisfying sense of heading out through the grasses and onto the beach beyond. Simple, open and distinctive, it captures a location that feels both peaceful and quietly dramatic. A lovely design based on a truly special stretch of Welsh coast.
